2021 seems so long ago already, not to mention it was a bit of a whirlwind for me. I want to dedicate more blog posts to the details of my experiences, but I figured for this post, a summation will do. I seriously doubt my ability to fit all of my enthralling adventures over these past few months into one post.
In March of 2021, I drove across the country with my father from Siesta Key, Florida to Portland, Oregon. This voyage was one of the most extraordinary experiences of my life. I feel very grateful to have the opportunity to embark on such a once-in-a-lifetime journey, especially with my dad. I’m sure many of you can understand – a trip with a parent is a true treasure.
We arrived in Oregon on March 13, the day before my birthday. I was so excited (also anxious!) to start my new position as the Marketing Strategist for this established cannabis production and processing company. It was a career that I definitely did not expect, seeing as my professional background is in Public Relations and Strategic Communication, but I figured as long as I stayed calm, asked questions, and remained open-minded, everything would work itself out.

Living in Portland was absolutely spectacular. Oregon is an ethereal place. One moment, you’re in forests so deep with trees so tall you cannot even see where they reach the top…the next, you’re on sand dunes listening to the wind whistle right next to the rushing Pacific.
I completed my training up at the farm, and was assigned the position of Marketing Strategist for the new joint venture in sunny San Diego, California. I cannot wait to talk about this move in further detail with all of you, for it was one of the most exhilarating, bittersweet, and daring moments of my life. Unfortunately, I had to leave behind many dear friendships that I had just started to cultivate, which definitely made leaving more difficult than I’d imagined.
The prospect of California made the move a bit easier, but I must admit, I was quite sad to leave. Quite sad, indeed.

After arriving in San Diego, California, I had the help of my family moving in, which allowed me to hit the ground running with my new position within the week. Words truly cannot express my gratitude to have their help. I was feeling positive, thrilled to have more responsibility with this job and to be in a new city. San Diego proved to be a really fun place to live.
Aside from work and the move, I found myself dealing with several health issues. I will address these difficulties in posts further down the road (both on here and on my socials), but for now, all I will say is this: please put your physical and mental health first. YOU are what is most important. Always.
That’s all for now. Thank you for your time and for being here. I appreciate you, truly I do.
All my love,
